Today I researched platonic solids and how to construct them. Platonic solids are shapes that are where all the faces are the same exact shape and size. I made these sketches to show the structure of each of the solids and the way I would construct them. These are called nets, they are a representation of the 3D shape on a flat 2D plane. These solids and lines on the faces, relate back to Euler's method. Ideally I would be able to cut these patterns on sheets of wood and assemble them into 3D shapes. I reached out to Scott and asked some questions about the laser cutter so once I hear back from him I will know if this is feasible to do on the laser cutter or not.
