Half-Process Presentation

My art project will be completed by this weekend. I have an appointment with Scott to use the laser cutter Friday morning. I will be using material called Bristol board. I already have the files ready to go so I will cut on Friday, then paint and assemble them over the weekend. Next week I will finish my artist statement. My research has changed a bit since I've started writing my statement. I'm now researching Renaissance artists' interest in science and math, exploring topics such as one-point perspective and their interest in anatomy. I've also been researching "invisible" ink that's only visible under ultraviolet light. I was thinking of doing the doodles on the sides of my shapes in invisible ink to represent how math and science is often hidden beneath what we can see but can in fact describe most of the systems of the universe. The ultraviolet light also relates to scientific concepts such as visible light and the electromagnetic spectrum. Since I haven't been able to get into the lab to use the laser cutter yet all I can show is the diagrams.

I found this new source that covers Renaissance artists' interest in anatomy:

Laurenza, Domenico. "Art and Anatomy in Renaissance Italy: IMAGES FROM A SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION." The Metropolitan Museum of Art Bulletin 69, no. 3 (2012): 4-48. Accessed December 2, 2020. http://www.jstor.org/stable/23222879.
